Dr. Beim Goes to Sochi – Alpine Orthopaedics
One well-respected orthopedic physician, one high-profile appointment and one crack PR team equals success of Olympic proportions. The highlight of Dr. Gloria Beam’s experience as CMO of the Sochi Olympics might have been her brush with Vladimir Putin, but surely the recognition her PR team achieved is award-winning. Skating to victory with a dramatic increase in social media engagement, dozens of high profile media placements, 22 new patients for Dr. Beim – including a well-known athlete – and a spectacular send-off that had the crowd cheering and included a message from Governor Hickenlooper, we attribute our success to preparation, exercise and a good diet.
JKD partnered with Cutter Communications on this campaign that resulted in media coverage locally and nationally including NBC, Altitude Sports, CNN.com, Medscape.com, KevinMD.com, Denver Post, Pittsburgh Tribune, among others with media valued at more than $1 million and reach that exceeded 2 million via web traffic and readership of more than 900,000. The additional 500% increase in Facebook engagement was compounded by the dramatic increase in engagement up from 4/post to 30/post. Alpine’s website also saw increased traffic with regular spikes correlating to social media efforts.
