Through ongoing engagement, JKD provides strategic planning expertise to all clients to ensure efforts are focused, consistent and garner results. Ongoing tracking, monitoring and evaluation provide necessary data to measure and maintain successful programs. This counsel centers on business objectives and how public relations and communications activities can support those goals. A targeted approach is used to leverage business initiatives and engage with key audiences.
CASA Jeffco/Gilpin has relied on internal staff, not formally trained in communications, to drive their efforts. While this has had some success, consistency and a unified effort posed challenges given the staff workload and other responsibilities. To address the problem, a structured Communications Committee was formed to interact with JKD to provide a comprehensive look and approach to their communications efforts. The coordination of efforts has resulted in the introduction and management of traditional and digital tools to support volunteer recruitment, fundraising and community education. The team has developed strategies for each area and identified specific roles and a dashboard for implementation that is proving to have consistent growth and positive results.
Specifically, the 2015 Gala event netted a dramatic increase in attendance and dollars raised, exceeding $100,000; the Colorado Gives Day campaign benefitted from added social media and donor outreach bringing in nearly 50% more than the targeted goal; and the most recent volunteer class was substantially larger than recent trainings.
