Review of this comprehensive data showed Applewood ranked high among its peers for customer trust with 87% willing to recommend them to others. Yet within the media they often were not used as an expert source. The data revealed Applewood could elevate its presence among customer bases by leveraging their ethical business practices. Applewood took a proactive approach to leverage their business status.
Specifically, recognition by key entities such as the Better Business Bureau were targeted to showcase the company’s ethical business practices and community involvement. Applewood achieved several awards including the BBB’s Torch Award, Golden Rotary Ethical Business Award and the Denver Post’s Top Workplaces. In tandem with the recognition, a media relations plan was put into place to highlight services and expertise. Relationships were established and positioned Applewood as a resource that resulted in coverage in the Denver Business Journal, the Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News, Contract Magazine, Plumbing & Mechanical Magazine and numerous community newspapers. This focused effort paid off with increases in customer requests and extensive media coverage that positioned the company as an industry expert.
